So, it has been busy around here. I have been sooooo tired. Naps are never long enough, and I can never get enough. I have been feeling well and eating a lot.
Kobi started Fall baseball. His schedule is a little hectic. The semester has started for me again with teaching at CSN. I kind of have a lot on my plate right now.
Xayla is still working on potty training. She will pee in the toilet all the time, but she will not poop in the toilet. She will go in her underwear. If I put a pull-up on her, then she will be sometimes in the pull-up and sometimes in the toilet. Today, she went to the babysitters for the first time in a very long time, and she urinated on herself twice and pooped in her underwear. I guess I need her to get used to other places! Yikes. I felt so bad. Luckily Kobi is not in school yet, so he helped the sitter out. Kobi starts 3rd grade next week! I can't believe it.
I am excited. We are going to Florida (the whole Disney thing) the 1st week of Sept. We need a family trip! Michelle, we are meeting up with Ben and his wife, Ursula, as well (and their daughter Isabella).

Kobi
I took some pictures, but I will post those later.
So my big boy turned 8 yrs last weekend! I can't believe it. He is going into the 3rd grade this month. He is such a big boy now! He got baptized today, and we had his party today because we were out of town last weekend. He is such a good boy. He loves to be silly and to pick on his sister, but he usually always chooses the right.

Trip
I am going to have to post pictures later. So far the trip has been fun. We went to a reunion in Orem and we are now in Blanding, UT. Small towns are interesting. I am not a small town girl. We had a hard time looking for a fast food place, and when we found some, there are not many to choose from. It has been so nice to get away and hang out with the family. I am not looking forward to unpacking and cleaning the house! This trip has been a stress relief.

IT"S MY BIRTHDAY!
So it is my last time in my 20's! Yikes! I spent the day working out, helping someone pack, took Kobi to swim lessons, and went to Red Lobster for dinner. I wanted an external hard drive for my birthday. Kind of a geeky present, but I wanted to back up all of my pictures and documents. I really wanted a Nikon D200, but I guess something like that will come later. Happy 4th to everyone!

Martin Luther King Jr
Kobi has a new friend in the neighborhood. He is a real sweet boy. Kobi came up to me today while I was making breakfast and said "Mom can I tell you something?"
I said, "Yes."
He said, "Who was that lady that fought for black people so they would be free?"
I said, "The one that wanted to sit in the front of the bus? Rosa Parks?"
He said, "No."
I said, "Martin Luther King, Jr.?"
He said, "Yes."
I said, "Well, he is a man."
Kobi said, "Oh. Well, David's Dad won't let David watch shows with black people. He can only watch That's so Raven."
I said, "How do you feel about that?"
He said, "I thought that kind of stuff was over a long time ago. I guess I am not sure what I feel." And he shrugged his shoulders.
I said, "Well, I guess some people still do not think nicely. It's not OK to watch bad shows that have bad words or bad things in it, but that does not matter if they are black, white, asian, or whatever color. So it is not nice to tell your kids that they can't watch something just because of the color of someone's skin. We can't change the way his Dad thinks, but I can teach you what is right and what is not."
We kept talking from there. It is sad to know that there are many people with racial biases still. I just wanted to keep Kobi from not having to deal with it as long as possible. Kids are so cute. They don't see race. Everyone is their friend. I wish the rest of the work thought that way instead of changing the innocence of children.

KC

(Some of our engagement pictures. Dental School has caused my husband to look finer. I know :))
So KC passed his BOARDS!!!!! Yes! Now just 2 more years of school left and one more board exam! Life is looking sweeter already! I am so excited that is is Father's Day (and I really should be in bed!!!). I think K.C. is such a great Father. Kobi made all of these things for him at school and before he went to bed he was so excited about giving him his gifts. He is sleeping with them right now, so that he could give it to him first thing in the morning. So cute. I am so glad that KC is my best friend! He is truly a good guy.
Now on my real Father. It's sad to say that I try and keep a relationship with him. He lived in Puerto Rico now with his wife that I won't say much about. My kids are his ONLY grandkids, and he doesn't ever remember their names, ages, or birht dates. Kind of sad, but you know what...it's OK. I am happy for my immediate family that I am blessed with. KC is the best Father to our kids. I never really knew what it was like to actually have a positive male role model in your life. I am glad my children will never experience that. Happy Father's Days to all the Wonderful Father's out there and to those who could try harder.

What's new
As you can see, I have been staying off the computer.
What's new:
Trying to potty train Xayla. Very fun :(.
Kobi started playing golf. He loves it. I am so glad he is old enough to do fun activities.
K.C. is taking his Dental Boards next Monday.
I have a new calling: teaching CTR 5. It has been fun and busy!
I'll have to post pictures later.

Latest Kobi thing
By the way, we got the mouse! I was going to post a picture of it dead, but that would be kind of mean. Expensive gadgets did not work. The cheap yellow trap worked and peanut butter!
Anyway, just wanted to post the latest Kobi thing.

Today was Fast Sunday (Hopefully Michelle clued you in on this Nichole :)) and I told Kobi that it was. He was helping me do the laundry. Then he stated, "Mom, why is today called Fast Sunday when it goes just as slow as every other Sunday."
I had to laugh. The things kids say. Now we need a family home evening on Fast Sunday.
Kobi is turning 8 July 28th. That means he will be baptised this summer! We took him to a baptism last night to watch. He said "I'm going to be fine." I am so excited. I can't believe he is getting big!
Today during fast testimony meeting, we had a few new converts to the church get up an bear their testimony. They were so excited! You could see the sparkle in their eyes and the innocence and conviction in their voices. It was really neat seeing how excited and blessed they stated they were. I had to bear my testimony because it just reminded me of how sometimes when everything is going well in our lives, we forget about our Heavenly Father. We kind of take it for grated. It made me really think about my spiritual walk. I know what it was like when I first became a nurse. I got so excited about every little thing. You forget that after a while. It was the same way when I joined the church. I felt like a new person. My eyes were opened to so many new things. I was actually a happy person. Over time, you get comfortable with daily living. Today, the new converts sparked that excited in me again. It's a wonderful feeling.
