Update

Went to Shark Reef with a large group. It was a lot of fun. The kids loved it. This is only some of the people that went.

Kobi got a new frog for his birthday. It's belly is red. It's a red belly frog. It's kind of fun. It eats bugs. I like feeding it our crickets we get. We were told we shouldn't do that because of the possible pesticides it may have encountered, but it's cool watching it eat the bugs.

We found one of these in our house! So scary! I heard they are hard to get rid of. Haven't seen another one since. They make me nervous. I have seen kids in the hospital that have been bit by one of these and it makes them act CRAZY. Very violent.
My sister-in-law, Eryn, had a bridal shower.

Kobi had a birthday party.

Jy turned 4 months! He loves to cuddle. I love that! I think I want 1 more. Is that crazy or what. I love being a Mom.

Kobi got Rock Band for his birthday. We had a little band. Keatyn and Jy on the guitar, Xayla singing, and Kobi on the drums. Cute band, huh :).

Kobi really wanted this metal dog for his birthday. He made it a paper home and everything. Where is it now? In the clutter of the rest of our junk. :(

Every July or August there is a Korean Folk Dance Festival at Ham Hall. It's free. I took my family this year. I love going to things like this. It's great to see the traditional cultures that are part of you. The dresses and dances are so beautiful as well. I used to dance in this festival when I was younger. I did the drum and fan dances.

Kobi

I'll have to post pictures later. I'm too lazy to get my camera. Kobi turned 9 July 28th. Crazy! I can't believe 9 years has passed. We had a little guitar hero party at my house for him. It was actually Rock band. That is what he wanted. He starting to ask more questions. Today in the van he said "Mom, I'm starting to turn darker, like black."

I said, "That's OK. If I was in the sun playing all day, I would get darker as well."

He said, "I don't want to be dark. Then, I won't be part of this family."

I said, "You will always be part of this family. The color of your skin does not matter."

He said, "But you will get rid of me like you did Blacky." Blacky was a dog my Mom tried to give us that had black long hair. We just did not want a dog at the time.

I said, "We didn't get rid of Blacky because of his hair was black. We got rid of him because we did not want a dog. We would never get rid of you, no matter what you look like." Then it was silent. I turned around and he was sleeping in the van.

It makes me sad when he talks like this. I don't know where he gets the idea of the color of his skin mattering (I guess it does matter in the world still at times.). I just don't ever want him to feel different or like he is not part of this family. It makes me sad.

On another note, he is so sweet. Last Friday I was sleeping in because I worked the night before. He brought pancakes and eggs up to me in my bed. He is so sweet at times.

Memory Post

Stole this from Stephanie

Here is a fun little game...Leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time, or a long time, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you....

We went to a Tim and Lori's (Dental buds) wedding the weekend. It was fun. Kobi stayed with a friend. He didn't want to do the reception thing.

I fed Jy, and he was a happy man!

Love baby hands.

Jy likes to eat Keatyn's hand, and she pulls his hair!

Blessed

We have been so blessed. For my birthday we were supposed to go watch Toxic Audio at the Planet Hollywood because K.C. donated blood so that we could get free show tickets (What a great husband. I hate needles..I know...I know...I'm a Nurse. It's doesn't mean that I have to like needles!). We got 2 free show tickets, but somehow they were misplaced! I was so sad. I looked everywhere for them! That's why we went to the comedy show instead because it was fun and cheap. Well on Friday, K.C. took our family to go eat where ESPN radio was doing a live broadcast. He was in the drawing to win a trip to N.Y. and Yankees stadium. We didn't win the trip, but we won 2 tickets to Toxic Audio and 2 tickets to V the ultimate Variety show (both at Planet Hollywood)! I went to Toxic Audio with Xayla on Saturday (tickets expired by Monday). I was able to get off work just in enough time to go, and my wonderful husband brought Xayla to my work so that we could go. Kobi was playing at a friend's house. On Monday we went to "V". It was really good. The performers were so talented. We had fantastic seats. I was blessed x2 for my birthday! My birthday is lasting all month! :) After the show we ate crepes at the Paris. SOOOOO good. You have to try it. They have food crepes and dessert crepes.

4th of July

I officially want to go to Blanding for every 4th of July! It was a lot of fun in that small town. We went up to the mountains for a cook-out. The dears almost walked right up to you in the mountains. We had a barbecue on the 4th and got to see a lot of family on K.C.'s mother's side. They always do boxing annually. Anyone that is crazy can box. They are supposed to pair you up by weight, but I don't think that always happened. There was a parade, and the kids got LOTS of candy. I just got rid of it all. Luckily Kobi's birthday is coming up, and I will get rid of it then :).
Kobi had fun with the cousins. He loves to play. He got to help his Uncle Shane with branding their cows. He was scared but loved it. He wrote his goals for the week down when we got home, and his goal was to check books out from the library about "farm work" and how to be a "cowboy". It was so funny. He kept telling me he had to go to the Flannery's (K.C.'s sister's husband's family) and to the Shumways (K.C.'s Aunt and Uncle) to do farm work at 5 in the morning. He really was excited about the animals.
Xayla just loved playing with all the boys.
Jy did very well. The drive is long, but he did pretty good. I slept with him all 3 nights. Never again. When we got back in town, he wanted to eat every 2-3 hours at night. It took about 3 days to break him from this. Next time, I will make sure he sleeps in the pack and play.
It was just so fun getting to see family and getting away from city life. The weather was so nice! I wore a light sweater for the fire works! The firework show was great! It was so late though (started at about 10 p.m.!).
K.C. also went to look for animals at about 5 a.m. for about 8 hours! Crazy. He enjoyed the company more then anything. We went swimming while they were in the mountains.
I can't wait until next fourth! We just have to see what is going on with K.C.'s work (Dental..yeah!)
It took me so long to post because I have been busy with work stuff.

30 years!

So we are in Blanding, Ut for the 4th right now. Here are their 4th outfits.

Jy turned 3 months on the 1st! Xayla is making Jy smile!

We went swimming at my friend's Stacia's house. It was fun. Nice to get away from my thoughts about work.

I love Jy's little hand. I love it when they have the grasp reflex. So precious.

So I turned 30 on July 2nd! Crazy! I used to think 30 was soooo old when I was younger. I'm glad I don't think that anymore :). K.C. and I went to the L.A. Comedy Club at Planet Hollywood. It was actually very funny. We had a great time. I got a 1 hour massage on my birthday, so worth it. It was a deep tissue massage (it hurt, but felt better the next day). I also went to breakfast with my Mom. I studied most of the day for 2 classes I have to take next week (Pediatric Advance Life Support and Adult Cardiac Life Support). I kind of wish I just hung out with some friends and took the day off instead of wasting my 30th studying, but it was still O.K. K.C. sang "I Cross My Heart" to me at night. I LOVE it when he sings. So is being 30 any different? Not yet :). I am thankful for my many blessings in my 30 years.

Jy

OK, so I know I have been posting a lot. It's summer time and teaching is not as crazy.

I took Jy to go get some pictures done today. So cute (I forgot his length at birth. Bad Mom. 3rd child syndrome? Thanks Michelle for helping me out! She had to pull it off of my blog!)

UNLV Basketball

Friday afternoon we went to watch the Runnin' Rebel basketball team practice. The NCAA allows teams to travel abroad once every four years. As a result, the Rebels are allowed to practice for a couple of weeks leading up to the trip. In about a week, the Rebels will head to the Land Down Under and play six games against professional teams. Pictured here is the family with new freshman 7-foot center, Beas Hamga. Everyone is excited to have him as part of the team now since our tallest starter last year was only 6'7" (Joe Darger).
There have been over 100 people at each practice so far. After practice, the coaches and players make it a point to shake everyone's hands and thank them for coming. Pictured with me and the kids are: Coach Kruger, Kendall Wallace, and the future conference player of the year, Wink Adams. Coach Kruger is seriously one of the nicest, most personable people you will ever meet. He is truely a class act (not to mention a great coach), and has good kids playing for him. Below is a bucket Wink scored in the scrimmage.

Coach Kruger has been pulling out all the stops in trying to get his team ready for the upcoming season. Former Rebels have been participating in practices and testing some of the new players. Pictured to the right is Joel Anthony of the Miami Heat giving Beas Hamga a lesson from the NBA and blocking his shot in the picture above! Beas may be a 5-star recruit, but still has a lot to learn. We are exccited to watch him develop as a member of the Runnin' Rebels. Also participating in practice have been: Kevin Kruger (coach's son) and Wendell White who play for the NBA developmental league, Mark Dickel and Warren Rosegreen...with many other former Rebels taking practice in from the sidelines. Former Rebel, and current 76er, Lou Amundson is supposed to make an appearence in practice this week. Ipuna will definitely want to go to practice now this week becasue she LLLOOOOOVVVVVEEESSS LOU! What a dreamboat!

My Princess is playing Soccer!

Oh how they grow so fast!

Went to the Water Park with some friends. Xayla was having some fun in the grass I see! It was a lot of fun but windy. Jy just slept in his sling. I love that thing! We saw High School Musical last Thursday night. It was fun, but it started at 7:30 pm. Kind of late for Xayla. She fell asleep at the end. We shared a Banana Split because we are trying to eat healthy. We are not doing too bad if 4 of us shared one right? :)

Guitar Hero!

We had so much fun this weekend. Friday we went to the Water Park. I'll post pictures later. Sat. we went to Mesquite for Timmy's (one of K.C.'s really good friends in Dental School) Guitar Hero competition. He placed 9th and won some money! Not bad for a broke Dental Student, huh. It's a side job right? It's keeping his fingers warmed up for Dental practice. It was so much fun. One of the guys there was wearing the JackMormon jacket and some people dressed up. We also ate at the Pizza Factory in St George. They have the best bread twists!!! With Alfredo sauce!! There was also this neat little presentation we saw at the visitor's center in St George by the temple. It was such a fun turn around trip. We are so lucky to know a Guitat Hero legend :) .

Linda my sister

So my sister has really been into body building. I think it is a little too much, but she works out hard and is a personal trainer. She was in a competition and got 2nd place recently. She is going to nationals. The lady or man? in the blue bikini with dark brown hair won. It almost looks like she is growing something in her trunks (the one who won).
