Mother's Day

Kobi made these flowers and this vase for Mother's Day. He was so excited to give it to me.

K.C. is at Father's and sons with Kobi. I am hanging out with Jy and Xayla. I just wanted to post some random pictures. I love this Picasa thing! I'm trying to figure out breastfeeding. It is not easy. It is getting better. I have a picture with Ethan and Jy above. There is also a picture with each Grandmother. We have been showing Jy off.

Little Ride

Xayla deceided to take Jy on a stroller ride in her toy stroller. He wasn't sure what to think. He looks so big in her baby stroller. She loved it.

OK about K.C.'s teeth

Luckily he is in Dental School and he has some friends that want to work on him. About 2 weeks ago I decided to take the kids to the Dinosaur park, and I get a phone call from K.C.'s friend from Dental school on K.C.'s phone telling me that K.C. had passed out, started seizing, and had chipped some teeth. They were wheeling him to the ER (he was eating lunch at the UMC cafeteria luckily). I freaked out. I was breastfeeding at the park, Xayla was on the swing, and Kobi was playing. Jy decided to poop through his clothes and I did not have a change of clothes because I had not really been out and my diaper bag was lacking extra clothes. I drove to UMC with all 3 kids just to find out I couldn't see K.C. because kids were not allowed back. I left (also because I wasn't thinking..what was I doing with a 2 week old in UMC's ER? There were some scaring looking people there.) It ended up being just fine. K.C. had a CT (Cat Scan), and it was fine. What happened? Well, K.C. ate his food too fast. He ended up having "the biggest hiccup of his life" which caused him to have a vaso-vagal syncope (faint). He fell on his friend, but his friend thought he was joking around. Then he fell to the floor and after 15 seconds or so, started to shake. He then popped up and came to. He chipped 5 teeth when he fell to the floor. The seizing is what made me nervous. The Dr. just said that you can seize from the fall. I'm just glad he is OK, and that he was at UMC already. I just told him, you need to slow down eating. I was a wreck that day. I love him. He will just need some cosmetic work now :).

All about my Tall, Dark (OK maybe not Dark), and Handsome Stud Muffin

1. What is his name? Kline Calvin (K.C.) Black

2. Who eats more? DEFINITELY K.C. He usually eats all of his food and then the left overs from mine, Kobi's, and Xayla's

3. Who said I love you first? K.C. I said it maybe a week later because I was scared to be in a relationship. I had been hurt really bad once before (not by my honey).

4. Who is taller? With my heels? OK, it doesn't matter. K.C. is about 6'5 and I'm 5'4 on a good day.

5. Who is smarter? The IQ test we took said me by 1 point :). He is actually WAY smarter then me in math (math genius), and I think I am better in literature (but not in grammar).

6. Who is more sensitive? Me. I think he only acted sensitive to get me to marry him. The real K.C. came out later :).

7.Who does the laundry? Me. He helps at times.

8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Looking at the bed, K.C. He kind of sleeps on both sides of the bed. I just get a sliver of the left side of the bed :).

9. Who pays the bills? That would be me.

10. Who cooks more? Me. I can probably count on one hand how many times K.C. has cooked.

11. What meals do you cook together? Chocolate covered strawberries? Does that count?

12. Who is more stubborn? I don't think either one of us are stubborn.

13. Who is the first to admit they're wrong? I think we both do.

14. Who is more clean? Me, I like order for the most part.

15. Who has more siblings? It's a tie- we both have 4. K.C. is the oldest and I am the 4th.

16. Who wears the pants in the relationship? I think it's pretty even, but K.C. makes the big decisions usually because most of the time I do not care. I usually make the little decisions, like where do we eat?

17. What do you like to do together? Hang out, watch movies, spend time with the kids, go to sporting events (anything Rebels :)) I like the outdoors, I am molding K.C..

18. Who eats more sweets? Depends. K.C. likes cookies and brownies. I do not like cookies or brownies that much. I LOVE candy.

19. Guilty pleasures? I love chocolate covered strawberries and pumpkin rolls. K.C. likes baked goods.

20. How did you meet? At the singles ward at the Institute on the UNLV campus. We knew each other for about 1.5 years before we dated. He got off his mission December 2000, and I got baptized January 2001. I wanted to go to medical school and was done with men (because I was judged greatly for being a single mom), and K.C. started studying with me at the library. The first time he asked for my number he put it on a napkin with 3 other girl numbers! He didn't even have the sense to turn the napkin over! That's K.C. What you see is what you get. He doesn't try to hide anything. That is what I love about him.

21. Who asked who out first? K.C. We went to lunch a couple of times while studying. Then one day he asked me to go to PF Changs for dinner.

22. Who kissed who first? K.C. kissed me first, I couldn't reach him otherwise :). It gave me butterflies.

23. Who proposed? K.C. did on a carriage ride in Utah. It was sweet. He sang to me as well. He is a GREAT singer!

24. His best features? His voice! His sense of humor, his heighth, a great communicator, his willingness to help me in any way that I need, his eyes, his teeth (but now he has 5 chipped teeth....another story).

25. What is his greatest quality? He would do anything to make sure that he could provide for our family. He is so friendly. He loves to have fun!

Jy K.C. Black

They say a picture is worth a thousand words! I was exhausted! Went in at 8 am and didn't have him until 11:59 pm. Ir was a long day. He and I are both healthy and that's what matters. He was 7lbs 6 oz and 19 in long. Born 04-01-08 at 1159 pm! We love him. I'm soooo tired!

It was nice having my Mom there.

update

So, I went to the Dr's yesterday and I am still only 1 cm dilated and nothing else is going on. Since he will be out of town for the second half of next week, we are going to get induced on April 1st at 0730 at St Rose Siena. So we will see if he comes this weekend or if he wants to be an April Fools baby! It will be nice because K.C. will be on Spring Break next week and Kobi has 2 weeks of track break. Nice family time.

So here is an update of our family! Thank goodness Cortney let me borrow her camera. I just got mine in the mail. I ended up buying through Costco.

K.C. is the Choir Director at church and Kobi got a hold of the camera during practice. The choir did such a good job on Sunday. I LOVE my husband's voice! It is truly amazing. (And I am tone deaf!)

Took the kids bowling for Spring Break.

Painted eggs at Grandma's on Sat.

Started easter Sunday with an Easter Egg hunt in the house.

She loves her dog!

One week before due! Easter Sunday.

Baby Keatyn did not know what was going on! We took too many pictures. :)

The kids had fun on Sunday at K.C.'s parent's house with an Easter Egg hunt.

Look who is in Boy Scouts!

The Baby's room is done! Yeah! I'm soooo thankful K.C.'s family helped with the painting!

update

My camera died so I'm waiting for my new one to come in the mail. I had a friend, Cortney, lend me hers just in case I have the baby before my camera comes. Thank goodness. It would have been so sad to not have any hospital pictures. The baby room is done. I can't wait to post pictures. I just need to get my camera going or I will have to post later when I get the pictures from Cortney's camera loaded. I just received the cutest sling. I'll have to post pictures later as well.

I went to the Dr's yesterday and nothing is going on. I did not want to be induced this time because I think that the Dr's and nurses can get C-section happy, but I found out my Dr will be out of town the first week of April. So we agreed that if I do not go natural by April 1st, I will get induced on April 1st before he goes out of town. I've heard of some ways to try to "safely" put yourself into labor. Any other suggestions?

Shower

This was a late post, but I had such a fun shower on March 1st. Cortney and Ashley did such a great job. A lot more creative then I am! Thanks for all who came and made it special.

On another note: The Rebels won the Mountain Western Conference Championship! I know it was on our court, so home court advantage, but the Rebels had nothing to do with that. It was a fun game.

Just waiting

So tomorrow is my 5 year anniversary with my hubby! It's crazy! I heard the first 5years are the hardest. I hope this is true because that would mean I really didn't go through much hard times at all. I have a fantastic husband and marriage. He allowed me to get a new digital camera (It's on the way. It was way cheaper buying on-line then at Best Buy.) because my old camera's batteries would drain so quickly that I spent a lot of money on batteries. I can't wait to get it this week. He is also finally painting the baby's room tomorrow morning. Yeah! I will post pictures (I hate doing things at the last minute.). Finally, he donated blood today at school so he could get us tickets to a comedy show at Planet Hollywood. Nice cheap date (just how I like it). We probably won't do anything tomorrow night because my husband's second love (or sometimes I think first!) are the UNLV Rebels, and they might be in the conference tournament tomorrow afternoon. We will find out tonight after the Rebels take on Utah.
I have been feeling well. I have just started feeling uncomfortable at night. I forgot how many times you have to go to the bathroom near the end. It's so annoying. I am also getting more leg cramps (annoying as well), and my back is starting to hurt at night. On the upside, I am glad I am feeling well overall and that the baby is healthy.

Xayla's Princess Party

Xayla is turning 3 March 1st. We had a lot going on that day, so we decided to have her princess party one week earlier. It was a lot of fun. We decorated crowns, painted the kids' nails, did their hair, made bracelets, colored, etc.

Understanding the Secret Baby language

This was pretty neat. On the Oprah show this lady said that babies can speak 5 words. If you know these 5 words, you will understand your baby. I'm excited to see if it works on our new little one. Try it, you new Moms to be! Or you new Moms.

Last Lecture

Someone e-mailed me this, and it I really needed to watch it. This gentleman speaks about if you had one last lecture to give, what would it be. I need reminders like this to put things into perspective. I feel blessed to have a great marriage, to have a healthy family, great friends, and so much more. I sometimes get in a rut and complain about everything. I actually should have nothing to complain about considering all that I have been blessed with. I hopes this lightens up your day as it did mine.

Also, can someone tell me how to make my header smaller? And cuter? Thanks.

New covers

Yes, Xayla is using some of Kobi's old covers. Her birthday is coming up. Maybe she will get her own Princess cover! :)

Some changes

Had one of my missionaries come into town with his wife and daughter. We spent some time at Michelle's. It was a fun weekend!

We had to make some changes due to #3. Xayla is in her own bed now! Kobi came in to cheer her on! What a nice big brother.

30 wks and 34 wks

I can't believe it is coming sooo fast!
